Keeping Julia's Star Shining
After a long, painful fight in her battle with cardiomyopathy, Julia passed at 15:21 on the 22nd of January. Her courageous, spunky spirit fought to the end. On that day, we lost a sweet, spirited little girl, and the sky earned a bright, shining new star.
Over the past 2 years, the Rotgans family have dedicated their lives to not only Julia’s illness, but also raising money and awareness for various charities like Stichting Opkikker and Stichting Hartekind , tirelessly campaigning, participating in events. A highlight this year was Julia meeting the King and Queen of the Netherlands during the King’s Day celebrations in Amersfoort in her role as a charity ambassador for CliniClowns . (You may even know her face from the television advertising in the Netherlands) See her here in one of their campaigns.
The Rotgans family have tirelessly sought treatments, interventions and researched heavily, in between hospital visits, therapies, blood tests and long, tiring hospital stays. They’ve also given Julia everything they had, whilst also trying to maintain a happy home life for their 2 sons, Dominic and Liam.
During this time, things have become financially tight for the family, with Christina only able to work limited hours and insurances and savings only covering so much. The funeral costs were not expected so soon, and the family needs our help.
WE are aiming to raise €5000 towards the funeral costs, and to help the family get back on their feet after 2 years of financial stress. It’s not much, and it will never bring back this sweet, courageous, feisty little girl, but it will help her family move past a huge financial stress, and begin healing.
All funds will go directly to the family, to contribute to primarily the funeral costs not covered by their insurance, and also to help them with the other unexpected expenses that may come their way.
