Historic Union Cemetery and Amor Eterno Foundation are raising funds to keep the 12th Annual Tradicional Día de los Muertos in Kern County completely free and open to the community on November 2nd.
For 12 years, this tradition has created a meaningful place for local families to come together in remembrance, education, art, culture, and family. Parents, children, grandparents, artists, and generations of loved ones gather to honor the people they love and celebrate their shared roots. What began as a small gathering at Historic Union Cemetery has grown into something much larger, and this year marks a new chapter as Historic Union Cemetery and Amor Eterno Foundation work together to continue growing the celebration while protecting the promise at its heart: no tickets, no admission fee, and no financial barrier.
As the celebration grows, so do the costs of welcoming the community safely and meaningfully. Every donation helps Historic Union Cemetery, in collaboration with Amor Eterno Foundation, keep the event completely free and open to the local community. Support helps make the entire celebration possible, from cultural performances and local artists to children’s activities, cultural education, traditional ofrendas, marigolds, music, staging, seating, lighting, security, sanitation, and the many details needed to safely welcome the community.
But this support provides something even greater. It gives a family the opportunity to walk through the gates without ever being asked to purchase a ticket. It gives a child the opportunity to learn why an ofrenda is built, why photographs and marigolds are placed, and why remembering those who came before us matters. It gives local artists and performers a place to share their culture. And it gives families a beautiful space to say a name, share a memory, and honor someone they love.
NO TICKETS. NO ADMISSION FEE. NO FINANCIAL BARRIER. There should never be a price placed on remembering someone you love. Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to help Historic Union Cemetery and Amor Eterno Foundation keep the gates open, traditions alive, and this celebration accessible to every family in the Kern County community.
