Keeping Debbie Fournier Home
Donation protected
My name is Sherri, I've been a friend of Debbie Salisbury Fournier for over 40 years. I'm setting up this GO FUND ME for Debbie with a heavy heart. As many of you know our Debbie has been struggling with her health for many years. Debbie has survived cancer more than once, which left her with life changing medical issues to this very day. Debbie's finances were extremely lowered by doing this. Bailey ( Debs daughter ) continued living at home to help with financial costs of living. Without Bailey, Deb wouldn't have been able to survive.
Approximately 7 years ago, Debbie fell again, causing many new issues to start. Months later Debbie was diagnosed with Parkinson's. Although shocked, Debbie decided to own her diagnosis and move forward. Debbie was put on multiple medications. Fast forward to the past year, Debbie was not getting better and new issues started to arise. Debbie then got the devasting news that she was misdiagnosed with Parkinson's. All the medications were basically killing her. So now to go through withdrawal. I can't express in words how devasting this process has been. Two months ago, Deb collapsed and was rushed to hospital where a new set of doctors discovered something devasting. Debbie had been very sick this whole time but not with Parkinson's, Debbie as been diagnosed with a very rare disease called: CORTICOBASAL GANGLIONIC DEGENERATION
This disease can mimic Parkinson's, reason for misdiagnosis. This disease is terminal with a life expectancy 6-7 years from first signs of symptoms . Debbie was and is devasted. We are all devasted. Debbie's only wish is that she got to go home, she was mentally exhausted being a test subject in the hospital. Bailey brought Debbie home and was committed to providing care to her mom. Bailey quit her job and assumed she would qualify for caregivers program through government, but of course this isn't going as planned. Debbie receives a very small disability cheque that will just or barley cover there mortgage. With 0 left over. Bailey is currently not receiving any money. No money for any of the basics, not even food. I'm begging people to help. $1 may not seem like allot, but when you're hungry that can go very far. I'm going to be organizing a Food Train, freezable meals, Qualify Foods gift cards (closest to them). I will be going up on a regular basis to deliver food and supplies to help. I was up to see Debbie and it's much worse than I could have imagined. Not once in the past 20 years while Debbie has struggled have I heard her complain or ask for help. I know she would do it for all of us. Let's help keep her home for as long as possible, seems like a small wish doesn't it? THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS
