Most of us are fortunate to have a warm home to return to each day. We have a warm coat, warm blankets, perhaps a fireplace. As winter approaches in Chicago, I have taken notice to all those in need who do not share the same luxuries of warmth.
Today, I saw a young girl cuddled next to a veteran, both trying to keep warm. A long sleeve t-shirt was all she had to protect her against the 36 degree windchill. And the weather is only becoming more harsh, day by day.
There are countless homeless with nothing to protect them during the cold winter months. In order to help fit homeless with coats, hats, gloves and blankets, I have started a gofundme page. $1 alone could provide gloves to a person in need. $1 alone would give back so much to the community.
And as a community, we need to continue to look out for those less fortunate.
