My name is Chantel Smith. I haven’t been able to work or had any income coming in since July 10th. I previously started a GoFundMe to help my family get through these past couple of months, but those donations have now been used for our mortgage, bills, groceries, and other basic household needs.

After losing my daughter, Alexis, to suicide, I have been struggling to grieve and navigate life without my child. I’ve been doing my best to keep my family going while trying to process such an unimaginable loss.

I am planning to return to work next week and take things slowly as I try to adjust to our new normal. I’m grateful that I’ll be able to start working again, but I don’t believe I’ll make enough right away to cover next month’s mortgage payment. I’m asking for help one last time so that we can stay caught up and avoid falling behind again.
