For those of you that know us and our story, I hate to sound redundant, but some small context is in order for anyone that doesn’t. Atlas Meat-Free opened up in 2014. We were the first vegan company to market meat-free and dairy-free deli options in South Florida. We purchased our building three years ago to expand of capacities and continue to wholesale and retail our products. Unfortunately, that dream has become a nightmare.
Everyone involved in the project has failed us. We are now over budget, out of time and doing what we can to save what we have. That might be involving shutting down operations, and focusing solely on the building. This is not what I want. I have been very fortunate to work with a few great people. Heavily invested in the idea of what we are trying to do. Put their faith in me to do the right thing. Under these extreme circumstances I hope I haven’t let them down, and I’ll continue to do everything for them. And they know who they are. The same goes for everyone that ever spent a dollar with us. You guys have really made it all worth it. But there is only so much we can take.
On top of all the hardships we are facing with our construction, we recently had our building broke into and had all our electric ripped out. Apparently this is common, as people scrape it for the copper in attempt to make money. To fix our electric and get back open will cost us $8,000. The rest of the money will help us continue operating as we continue to invest our personal savings to finish our construction and #KeepAtlasInMiami
I understand not everyone can donate money. But a share on Facebook can go a very long way.
