The Young Religious Unitarian Universalists of the Pacific (YRUUP) is a transformative organization rooted in Unitarian Universalist principles, providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for teens and young adults. Rising from its rich and complex history, YRUUP offers a haven for youth who might otherwise feel unwelcome, fostering growth and belonging through love, community, consent, and compassion.
Each year, YRUUP hosts five events: four seasonal weekend conventions ("cons") and a week-long summer camp ("WUUKY") in the Mendocino woodlands. These events are youth-led, with participants planning itineraries, managing logistics, and upholding governance, supported by experienced adult advisors. Through a peer mentorship model and horizontal leadership, YRUUP empowers the next generation to thrive while carrying forward the Unitarian Universalist torch.
In a time when young people bear the weight of the past, YRUUP nurtures their resilience, ensuring the continuity and growth of the UU faith. By supporting YRUUP, whether through time or resources, you contribute to shaping a vibrant, connected future for all.
