OUR BELOVED TOWN IS CRUMBLING DOWN… WE NEED YOUR HELP!!

Welcome to your northern Michigan connection! Wolverine MI is your gateway off the superhighway, I-75, at exit 301. The hidden gem of the north. Wolverine has a beautiful park and campground located right on the Sturgeon River, just steps from downtown, as well as access to rivers, trails, lakes, and so much more. This is what one author had to say in 1978 about Wolverine once known as the village of Torrey… “Sitting in the lap of history! That’s where we felt we had landed…” Summerix (1978).

More than forty-five years later those words still have a ring to them as you step into the heart of Wolverine where you will find a few of those timeless buildings still standing.

However, we are afraid it won’t be for long on one particular building if we cannot get some support to act soon in rescuing this historic timepiece…

…known simply as cory’s old store or the leather Mans location. This building is believed to be built pre 1916, which replaced the log building that was operated as a store since 1900.

We are private citizens trying to help preserve a local historic building and help the owner gain access to the necessary funding that will be needed to preserve the historic nature of the building which was always to serve others. We need to raise money to get the building repaired and functional again in hopes of creating a destination stop café showcasing the rich history of Wolverine, once knows as Torrey.
