Keep Weston and Ryan Together

My name is Shannon Murray and I have been in a relationship with Ryan for coming up on 4 years. I've been witness to Ryan's involvement as a parent, and to his parenting skills with his son. This is me and his son, Westy (Weston) in our blanket fort from when he was 2 years old.

We are not generally the type of people who ask for help. Unfortunately, we will humbly set pride aside and tell the world that we REALLY need help. We need your help because without it Weston could spend these incredibly crucial years of his life with minimal contact with his father, and that simply is not right.
The backstory:
Ryan and Weston's mom learned that they were expecting early on in their relationship. They ultimately separated before Weston's first birthday. They had their differences, but having shared equal parenting time since their separation has worked out very well since they split up. Never in a million years did Ryan anticipate that his son's mother would try to take their son away from him.
Ryan is an amazing father, and has always been very involved in his child, Weston's life. I have been witness to his parenting skills for close to 4 years now. Ryan is warm and kind, and above everything he is extremely patient and calm. Ryan and I were acquaintances for 14 years prior to dating, and it was immediately evident to me once we began dating that Weston was Ryan’s top priority in any situation. Ryan and I decided to begin incorporating more time with Ryan, Weston, and myself in 2017 as we formed our own little family. After we moved into our new home things were starting to feel really great for all of us. Below I've attached a photo that we keep framed in our living room.

In February of this year Weston's mom decided without prior conversation to remove him from his school and place him in a new religion based school. Weston's very first day at his new school was the same day that Weston's mom disassembled the majority of the stability and consistency in Weston’s life by deciding that Ryan’s parenting time would be reduced from shared equal time of 50% down to four nights per month. Her reasoning was because their son would be in "school and sports and stuff." Mind you, our home is just a couple of minutes (3 miles I think) from his new school. We have not been allowed to celebrate any holidays with Weston since this began, and were only given just a few hours to spend with Weston on his 5th birthday.
This change has not only affected Weston, Ryan, and myself, but has also affected Weston's relationships with his extended family, and also his ability to see those loved ones. He has seven cousins that all love and miss him, along with his grandma and grandpa, and his aunts and uncles that he loves so dearly.
Weston and Ryan deserve to continue to be in each other's lives as they have been since his birth. I am trying to help Ryan raise money to help with the fees he will have to pay to climb out of this hole that our flawed legal system has placed him in. Ryan will need to hire an attorney to fight the blatantly inaccurate and false narrative that Weston's mom has constructed with the help of her attorney. We have filed court documents, but there is only so much the two of us can do on our own. We really need your help because without it Weston could spend these incredibly crucial years of his life with minimal contact with his father, and that is not right. If a donation isn't in your abilities, we ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we try to fight for what is best for Weston. <3
