My name is Chelsea, and I am writing this on behalf of myself and my parents, Scott and Dawn.

This is not easy for me to write, but my family and I are in a very difficult place right now, and I need to ask for help.

Recently, the house we were renting was sold, and we were forced to move to a more remote area. Since the move, finding steady work has been almost impossible. We’re now three people trying to make ends meet on a single income. We’ve been stretching every dollar, applying to every assistance program we can, and doing everything possible to stay afloat — but despite our best efforts, we’ve fallen behind.

Right now, the most urgent need is keeping our electricity and water on. The electric company is demanding $1,000 to prevent shutoff (even though the total balance is much higher — about $5,000). On top of that, our water bill of $500 is also past due and at risk of being shut off. Together, this means we need about $1,500 immediately just to keep the basics running.

I’ve set this GoFundMe at $2,500 so that we can cover those urgent bills and have a little bit of breathing room for essentials like groceries and gas while I continue searching for steady work.

I’m setting up this GoFundMe in the hopes that, with a little extra help, we can get through this hurdle. Any amount — no matter how small — would mean the world to us and go directly toward keeping the lights and water on and giving us some breathing room while we continue searching for more stable footing.
