Hi friends,

It’s not easy for me to write something like this, but this year has been… a lot.

After losing my dad earlier this year, and then our sweet dog Posey not long after, I thought maybe the universe would give us a break. But life had other plans and now I’m facing a major spine surgery that will put me out of work for a while. Those who know me know I’m usually the one holding things together, both at home and at Via Margutta Vintage, our little shop on Grant Avenue that has become my heart and daily joy.

Unfortunately, being self-employed means that when I’m down for recovery, the income stops but the rent, the bills, and my amazing small staff don’t. This GoFundMe isn’t about me personally as much as it’s about keeping Via Margutta afloat while I heal, making sure the lights stay on and that the folks who’ve helped make the shop what it is can stay paid through the holiday season.

If you’ve ever stopped by the shop, bought a vintage jacket, chatted about Fellini films, or shared a laugh over one of our window displays you already know how much this little corner of North Beach means to me. I can’t wait to get back on my feet (literally), and in the meantime, your kindness would help me breathe a little easier knowing everything and everyone I care about will be okay.
