This is incredibly embarrassing to write and I don’t know what to do so, I am swallowing all of my pride and asking for help again which, somehow feels worse than asking for help initially. It is hard to catch up when the hits keep coming.
Dennis lost his job back in the beginning of May/end of April 2023 and although he found a new position at the end of June of 2023, we have been struggling to keep our heads above water since.
He has been sick with pneumonia since the beginning of this month (10/2023) and with his history of acute idiopathic eosinophilic pneumonia (that landed him in a medical journal), we have to be extra cautious. He has used up all his sick time and I am currently still unemployed.
I have been searching and searching for a job to no avail for months! I have gone on countless interviews and while some good things seem to be coming on the horizon, we need help getting over the hump— especially since his doctor has written him out of working in the office for the next 90 days due to temporary disability and his employer is denying the request to work from home.
He does not yet qualify for PFL, we receive no government assistance (except Medicaid) and while I’m waiting to (hopefully) begin a new job, and for the paycheck to come, we really need help. I don’t want to lose our home or our car or have our electricity shut off. I will be applying for assistance too but, that takes time.
I’m really hoping we can raise some funds to help pay rent, car payment and insurance, and the RGE over the next month or so. These are the big bills I’m worried about right now and I truly am grateful for any support given whether it be just a share or words of encouragement. Any donation anyone can give, whether it be $5 or 5¢ is meaningful to us.
I know that so many are struggling right now and I promise to pay it forward as soon as I am able. We have made some big changes this year, cut back on everything we could and are working hard to ensure we are never in this position again.
If you got this far, thank you for reading. I can provide proof of bills, doctors notes, my applications, etc. if anyone needs.
costbreakdown: $1800-monthly rent
$240-car ins
$731-car payment (we have bad credit and are hoping to refinance)
$643.80- RGE (we are behind)
Just wanted to say I would absolutely love to reach $1800 by Nov 10th as I have a 10-day grace period for paying rent and that is my biggest concern. Our RGE is actually due today but I will call them and our car insurance is due Friday. It will be paid thanks to these donations. Will post more info if needed and will post updates. Goal is to have the funds needed for bills that I have provided proof of for November and hopefully December as well. I know this is a tough time with the holidays so I really appreciate the generosity of everyone who has donated, shared and given encouragement. It means a lot!
Also proof I have been applying to jobs. I have applied to 77 in the last 14 days and 2 on another site and more on various other sites as well.
