Keep Two Sisters Adventure Co. Rolling with a Van

If you don’t know about Two Sisters Adventure Company, we are a small woman owned and operated business based in Durham, NC. We are a mission driven business focused on making the outdoors more accessible to more people. We focus on affordable small group guided kayak trips and hikes built on a community of respect and designed to help people find adventure regardless of socioeconomic background, fears based on previous experiences, race, gender, sexual orientation, or body size. Our trips are welcoming to all people and we serve a community that is truly representational of those goals.

On July 6, in the middle of our summer camp season, our area was impacted by serious flooding. The flooding has left us temporarily unable to use our local waterways for paddling. In order for our summer camps to continue to operate we have to use 3 vehicles daily to drive our summer campers to cleaner/safer waters out of town.

We need a van to help our business grow. Two Sisters Adventure Company has been operating since 2021 with a 2004 Honda CRV as our only company vehicle. We love having a small vehicle to run our programs because it fits our small vibe. This summer we have discovered that we really need a van or two minivans.

We operate our guided trips, classes, and summer camps at a very low profit margin in order to remain accessible to more people. This leaves us in a situation without extra funding available for big purchases or large additional monthly bills.

We are looking for a safe, reliable van or two minivans that have all working seat belts and heat and air conditioning in the back seats. We need your help to keep our business alive and growing. Any additional money raised will cover registration, taxes, and towing kit installation. All other additional funds raised will go directly to a savings account for any future emergency or vehicle needs.
