Please help us keep Adriana and Traciee Free!!

Traciee and Adriana are currently facing charges with the state and need our support to keep them free.

Traciee and Adriana are two Black Trans women organizers and make up half of No Justice No Pride ’s leadership. Traciee and Adriana have been organizers with NJNP for a number of years. Adriana was one of the lead coordinators for the Mayor Bowser Block party protest last summer. Late last year NJNP restructured and Traciee and Adriana have been in leadership since. This past year has been really hard on them as new NJNP leaders. From last fall to the spring NJNP wasn’t fiscally sponsored which made it really difficult to receive funding to cover the monthly costs of NJNP’s five safe houses . Following this, our community experienced loss after loss after loss and then one of NJNP’s core organizers passed away and left everyone gutted.

Just as everyone started recovering both Traciee and Adriana were targeted by the state and are now facing pending court cases. They are so critical to NJNP and our community, we cannot allow the state to take them from us. The criminal injustice system is already a dangerous place for Black Trans women. WE NEED TO KEEP THEM FREE AND SAFE. WE ALSO NEED SUPPORT FOR THEIR LEADERSHIP and to alleviate the stressed caused by the high monthly bills for NJNP’s safe houses.

We are asking the community to help us keep two Black Trans women safe and free and to assist their leadership.

Funds raised will be used to cover the following:

• $8,000 for anticipated Attorney costs
• $500 for court related fees
• $2,800 for rest, self care and recovery related costs

In addition, we are asking community to support NJNP’s leadership during this time and to relieve stress we are asking for support with our monthly housing costs.

We are in the process of buying a building to make our housing work long term and sustainable but in the meantime really need support covering the high monthly costs associated with managing 5 safe houses.

Our current monthly housing costs are over $20,000, largely of which is just rent; after we cover all associated court costs for Traciee and Adriana the remaining funds raised and this fundraiser will be used to support these costs while NJNP’s leadership focuses on this next stage.
