Keep Tommy Goldman Safe and Housed

Hello, I am Dakota Goldman. With a heavy heart, I am posting this on behalf of my father, Tommy (Tom) Goldman. For those of you who don’t know, my dad has Parkinson’s disease and is mentally disabled. Unfortunately, he has been wheelchair-bound for over 2 years now, and with that comes needed assistance.

Medicare waiver program provided my father with morning and night CNA aides to help him. Unfortunately, one young lady who was his nighttime aide decided to retrieve his bank account information and access his Chime debit card. Since then, this young lady has stolen over $1486 (and adding up) from my dad’s account without him knowing, dating back to the end of 02/2025. The transactions started small and progressed to $700.00.

Due to this, my father was unable to cover his last month's rent and also for the month of May. Luckily, his landlord has been helpful and utilized his deposit for the month of April, but there is nothing to cover the month of May as the CNA left his account -17.28 four hours after his SSD check hit for this month. His landlord is willing to allow him to stay if we can come up with his rent and deposit back, which is $1300.00. My father will be paid again in June, but we need to keep a roof over his head until then as this has put him a few months behind.

Anyone who knows my dad knows he is a goofy, kind-hearted, and loving man. He has had some faults in the past, but that doesn’t mean he deserves to be abused by the people who are paid to take care of him. A police report has been filed. The young lady was fired back in the first week of April by her employer. We have filed complaints with the state, I have disputed the transactions with Chime, who is stating a potential 90-120 days for a resolution, and I’m still waiting for Hancock County Sheriff's Office to come review the additional bank records as the amount is of felony level.
