Update as of 03-02-2025*************************************************************
Timothy has been placed with housing and is safe. He is still a long way from getting the full support he needs. We don't know what things will look like moving forward for him financially and we are STILL waiting on disability for him.

Update as of 02-25-2025*************************************************************
My brother Timothy will be homeless as of 02-28-2025 (this Friday). His case manager with the regional center is working with the manager to desperately find housing for him by then. We are also working with adult protection services which handle adults at risk of being homeless. We're not very hopeful because my brother has very specific needs and the system continues to fail him. We have still had NO progress with disability either. We're now down to 3 days before he will be homeless, he has nowhere to go. Any money donated will most likely go towards whatever cheapest motel we can find for him as well as food and toiletries.
I'm at a loss. I'm at my witts end. I'm exhausted. I'm angry. My brother can't get the help he needs no matter how persistent we've been and now he will be homeless. Thank you to everyone that has helped us keep him off the streets so far. But unfortunately it looks like it's inevitable unless by some miracle housing goes through for him within the next 3 days.

Original description:
We never imagined we'd need to ask for help again, but my brother Timothy is on the verge of homelessness within the next month and a half.
Timothy has been assessed by doctors and fully qualifies for disability. However, we've been waiting over two years for his benefits to be approved, including the back pay he desperately needs. Despite our constant follow-ups, nothing has progressed. Until those benefits come through, Timothy has no way to cover rent, bills, or utilities and will lose his housing. He has no other place to go.
The system is failing Timothy, and it’s heartbreaking to watch. Homelessness has always been my worst fear for him because I know he won’t survive on the streets. His mental and physical health are rapidly declining, leaving him unable to take care of himself or work.
Recently, Timothy underwent a psychiatric evaluation by the Regional Center in Los Angeles. He was newly diagnosed with autism and severe cognitive impairment, and his schizophrenia diagnosis was confirmed. While we’re working hard to get him proper support through the Regional Center, we’ve been told it could still be months before his caseworker is even assigned.
We’re desperate to keep Timothy off the streets. The disability office is taking a long time to even assign a caseworker and told us it could be another 260 days after they finally assign one. Your donations will help ensure Timothy has a safe place to live for at least the next six months. By then, we hope his disability benefits will finally start coming in so he can stay housed and receive the ongoing support he needs.
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us in the past. Your kindness has made a world of difference in Timothy’s life, and we’re asking for your help again to see him through this critical moment. Every contribution, big or small, will give Timothy the stability he needs to stay safe and get the care he deserves.
If anyone is uncomfortable donating here you can send it to my venmo: @Melissa-Sergent just make sure to make a note that its for Timothy's cause.
