Hello Valued Customers, Philanthropists, and Friends,

Hello Valued Customers, Philanthropists, and Friends,

Its Erin McFarland. You may know me as the owner and Creative Director of Three Irish Yarn Inc. It is pretty apparent to all you that the Covid-19 virus has had significant impacts on the economy, especially small business owners. Our reality is changing daily as our financial outlook is looking grimmer and grimmer. It is a constant challenge to stay afloat and we are forced to make very hard decisions about our business’s future.

Recently, I made the tough decision to lay-off all my staff due to the uncertainty of the times ahead. Three Irish Girls have changed to a One Irish Girl operation. Now, all aspects of my business are solely taken care of by me.

The bread and butter of my business is from our wholesalers and since their businesses came to a grinding halt, thus did our business as well. We also do offer personal retail through our website but the level of orders at this point will not sustain this business to stay open in the long run.

Before the Covid-19 we were a growing business that produced approximately 3000 skeins per month and this could support the employment of three employees, renting the space we have and all of the expenses that went along with it. With it is just myself and the lack of business for the foreseeable future, I will not be able to stay where I am at.

I am scared that I will have to make more tough decisions, which may lead to significant changes or closure of Three Irish Girls Yarn Inc. I have been part of this business for eleven years, and it breaks my heart to think of this as a reality. The hard work and sacrifices I made are my bond to my business and customers and I will fight to keep this business afloat but it cannot be done without your help.

I would not be doing this if it were not necessary, but I know right now more than ever we need to lean on each other to get through. I have set-up a GOFUNDME account, and if you could please help me meet my goal, it will help me move Three Irish Girls Yarn Inc in a better direction. With these funds, I hope to offset my month-to-month expenses for the next 6 months, payout my lease and move my business to my home, where I can run the business with way less overhead with a more sustainable budget in mind.

I understand that it might seem like a big goal, but any little amount of money could help us in this hard time.  I am truly grateful for any support to make these goals. Words will fail the debt of gratitude I will always feel for all of the supporting Angels helping out all of these small businesses through these times. For, helping me make it to the other side of this financially trying time, I am eternally grateful.
