Keep them at Saints

God speaks to us. Sometimes it is a whisper, a feeling, a sense that all is right. Sometimes it feels like you were hit with a brick or a Mack truck. Sometimes you know that you must step out and lend a hand to a friend in need. I have friend who desparately needs our help. Connor has had a really tough life but you wouldn’t know by looking at him. He is the guy who always is smiling, who waves, who stops to say “hey” when he is walking by. He’s the guy that you can go to with your problems because he will listen without judgement. He’s the guy that you can count on to lend a helping hand. He’s the guy that, when a girl at his school last year tried to kill herself – a girl he barely knew – he’s the guy that listened to her, that reminded her that God loves her just the way she is, that she mattered, that he believes in her. He’s the guy that stopped to tell another guy that he didn’t know that he heard his father died and if he ever needed anything, to please let him know; he needed a hug. He’s the guy that lives to serve other people. He’s the guy that didn’t have a jacket last winter because every time one of his friends needed one, he literally gave them the jacket off his back. His brothers are just like him. Now this selfless guy and his brother, Joshua, need our help.

Connor is a middle brother. His youngest brother, Joshua, is a freshman and his oldest brother, Matthew, graduated in 2015. All three of them are awesome people.

We go to a school at a very special place. It’s expensive. For financial reasons Connor didn’t attend Saints last year. He lost his community and we lost him. His home situation took a turn for the better and he came back to us. He brought Joshua with him. Connor came back to us and we can’t let him go again. We have too much history with him. The whole school is different without him. He is our brother. He is a Saintsman.

The family was hit this week with yet another financial blow. We can either look the other way and talk about how much we will miss Connor and Joshua or we can do something about it. My friends – correction, my brothers – and I choose to reach out to everyone so that we can lift Connor and Josh up. It’s not their fault that any of this has happened.  They deserve the same opportunity that we do to a great education so that they can strive to be the men that God wants them to be. We are asking for your help. We only have a short time to get this done. NO gift is too small. All prayers and sharing are welcome. Christmas is almost here. Please give to our campaign so that we can give Connor and Joshua the BEST Christmas present ever – the opportunity to go back to their school.
