We are University Players! We currently are experiencing unprecedented financial instability due to the IU Funding Board's decreased available funds. Thank you for considering a donation to help UP.
How does UP use their money? Below we have a list of all expenses for the organization. We hope that this increased transparency will raise awareness and concern for the organization’s programs.
- $56/month: Storage facility for all set pieces, costumes, and props. (x6months=$336)
- $750: Rights and scripts for The Laramie Project
- $50: Costumes for The Laramie Project
- $50: Props for The Laramie Project
- $50: Set for The Laramie Project
- $1,325: Rights and scripts for Ride the Cyclone
- $860: Space for Ride the Cyclone, Firebay at the Waldron Arts Center
- $50: Costumes for Ride the Cyclone
- $50: Props for the Laramie Project
- $50: Set for the Laramie Project
- $50: Costumes for Call Your Shot
- $50: Props for Call Your Shot
- $50: Set for Call Your Shot
Outside of these items, there are other expenses UP has to face, such as shipping charges when sending scripts back to royalty companies and decor items for Cabarets and smaller-scale shows.
A note about space: University Players does not have its own theatre space. We are very lucky that the University Department of Theatre and Drama has allowed us to use the Studio Theatre two times this year, free of charge. Other performance spaces on campus are not as cheap and much harder to reserve, and are therefore less accessible. We are fortunate to be partnering with Constellation Stage and Screen this semester to use the Rose Firebay at the Waldron Arts Center at a far discounted rate. Please understand we would use other spaces if we were able. That said, if you know of any spaces you think UP might be able to use, please contact us with your ideas. We appreciate any help in getting productions to the stage, no matter what kind of space it is.
