Keep The Pandorica Open
I'd like to share a little bit about the journey that has brought the Pandorica here.
When I bought the Cup and Saucer Tea Room in 2007, after working here since 2001, we were immediately hit by a recession. However, we had momentum of a kind; while most businesses in the area were slowing down, with some even closing, we were pushing forward, albeit awkwardly, with two steps forward and one step back, but ultimately, we were moving forward.
After 7 years and incredible changes in the neighborhood, I opted to rebrand ourselves. Inspired and infused by my lifelong fanaticism for the greatest Sci-Fi show in existence and my love for the restaurant, "Geronimo!", we regenerated into the Pandorica Restaurant, a Doctor Who-themed eatery drawing fans from all over the globe to come and immerse themselves in our fandom décor while enjoying a meal specifically prepared with Doctor Who in mind.
Here you can get fresh, intriguing, international out-of-this-world comfort foods while excitingly chatting with staff and other customers about your favorite Doctor, episode, or companion. I'm especially thrilled and honored to host events here with some wonderful, warm, and gracious actors from the show, including Doctors and Companions. Those events offer an opportunity for fans to join them for an afternoon or evening in a very relaxed and informal event.
It was July 7th, 2014, when we regenerated from the Cup and Saucer, and The Pandorica opened. That was 11 years ago! A total of 24 years. We pushed through a recession the pandemic and in 2025, with higher prices and lower tourism, we are still here.
Sadly, even though we managed to make it through some tough obstacles, we now have a new, potentially devastating concern. After all these years, our equipment has passed its prime and is failing.
For the Pandorica Restaurant to continue its journey, we need to redo our kitchen with new appliances to stay up to code.
This is an extremely difficult task that I have to do, but I am humbly asking for your help, we won't be able to keep The Pandorica Open without you.
Additionally, there's a deadline for me to get started, to show that I am complying.
I want to continue seeing the faces of the people who come here light up with joy and excitement, see the kids in awe, mouths agape, do game nights, gingerbread house/TARDIS decorating and other family events.
I feel we've done something very special, built a community for Doctor Who fans and honestly, I DON'T WANT TO GO.
Thank you for your support!
Shirley and the Pandorica crew.
We had set a goal which GoFundMe divided into smaller increments we are asking only for what we need for each phase of our necessitated reno. When we complete different areas needed and are re inspected we will keep you updated
