Faith and Caswyn here! We're two DIY unsigned touring musicians from the Catskills who need a little help from our friends and music lovers abound. We had been fundraising on a DIY level, but a few friends recommended we make a gofundme, so here we are.
First, we want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has helped us get through the summer. We have made many repairs to the van in hopes that Lulu could take us on the road, however, after seeing a transmission specialist, she must be retired and we were advised to only keep her local, if anything. We had decided to push through with the tour, and get a rental van but the cost of that went from 2k-6k after fee's and insurance and we couldn't stomach spending our tour van savings on a van we can't keep. We're postponing the tour, partially or fully. While the Northern portion will be in 2026, if we can figure something out by Oct 22nd we may still make it to Bisbee, but my hopes aren't high for that. We tried to rush buy a used van, but that's never a good idea. SO we'll be fundraising and staying local longer then we thought. While this is a HUGE bummer, MANY hours of work went into this amazing tour, we feel its the right thing to do to continue touring responsibly and the longevity of this project being our main job.
Normally we don't like to ask for help and try to keep things as DIY as possible but our backs are against the wall and we find ourselves in a dire situation. Our minivan Lulu has almost 280k miles on it, earlier this year we had to make a bunch of repairs to get her inspected and are SO DANG GRATEFUL for everyone who supported us during that time to get her at least inspected. We had hopes of raising funds enough to buy a new (used) van and fix Lulu for Caswyns Mom to use. Well, even with Faith's 808 credit score and having applied for several auto loans, we can't get a loan because the taxes that we claim are mostly cash gigs and the banks want to see employment. So that option is no longer there for us.
This week we took it to get the pre tour check up and a sound that we were hoping was a tie rod was actually our transmission clogged beyond repair. We're pretty bummed, rentals cost 6k, transmissions cost 4500... So it's time we get Lulu's relief, and we're hoping to stay away from credit card debt as much as possible.
The vans we're looking at that would compare to Lulu and be able to take on the travel that we do are ranging anywhere from 9-16k and it's seeming impossible to make it happen. We're trying to raise funds to purchase a new used minivan so we can continue touring in 2026. While we've narrowed our search down to getting another Dodge Grand Caravan anything that looks worth it is out of our price range, especially without the ability to get a loan.
In order to keep playing music to anyone anywhere, we're going to have to invest in a new van for touring (and everyday life, as we only have one vehicle between the two of us). When we met each other, we were coming from very rough places in life and collectively have very minimal savings but decided to live our dreams the best we can together. So now we're reaching out in hopes to get a little help from our friends to keep the rock rollin' on.
It humbles us to do this and there's absolutely no expectation to receive anything but the van is the silent 3rd bandmember, the heartbeat of our mission, and no van, no shows... No work.
This van gave us 9 beautiful tours around the country, MANY weekenders regionally and countless 100 mile round trips out to our weekly open mics. We met each other at this van, cried and laughed in this van, chased dreams in this van, this van even saved our lives in that accident back in 2023. It's hard for us to think of touring without her, but understand the time is here. Lulu was a gift to Caswyn from his late brother with the wishes for him to tour in. The only reason we ever had this beautiful van was that it was a gift from the great beyond, with a hard price to pay. That part of the mission has been accomplished, but we feel there is much more to do.
If no one can help, which is okay, times are tight and crazy all around, but even if you get the word out, come to a show, subscribe to the youtube channels, or anything like that means the world to us.
If you're a part of making this happen for us we'll play house parties, paint planets, advertise your logo on all upcoming tour tshirts and posters, we'll promote you in every vlog that we ever do, got an idea? Let's talk. We may even name the new van after you. We really dread the idea of slowing this project down at this point. The last tour left us energized and ready to hustle and then we got hit with this news, fixed that problem and now the new news. Life keeps lifing.
So if some of our 11:11 Wishes came true, we'd have a rock'n'roll miracle, get a new-to-us van and continue business as normal!
So with that, we put it out there. If you or anyone you may know can help the wanderers keep wandering with any size donation towards these goals, we'd love to chat and work with you in any way to keep this show on the road.
Sincerely,
and with peace, love and rock'n'roll,
oceans of love,
Faith Kelly & Caswyn Moon
aka Couple of Wanderers
Please note. This is not about money as it's more about a van. If anyone has a lead on a well running van that needs a home, that would be a huge help. Finding the best new tour van is a big daunting part of the process and anything helps. We're looking for something similar to Lulu. 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT year and model wise. With around or under 100k miles on it. A wanderer can dream.
