I’m Mário Cales, a Portuguese artist, writer and electronic music creator. My creative journey has been shaped by decades of exploration in music, photography, writing, consciousness, spirituality and human transformation.

Over the years, I have explored different artistic and personal paths, always driven by curiosity and the desire to understand the world and ourselves from different perspectives. Music has remained one of the most powerful ways for me to express these ideas and experiences.

Today, through my project EC=MC², I create atmospheric electronic music that brings together ambient textures, minimal techno, cinematic soundscapes, psychedelic influences and questions about consciousness, technology and the future.

At 59, I’m not trying to recreate the past. I’m using everything I have experienced so far as raw material for something new.

This campaign is a way of helping me continue that journey — promoting the music I have already created while giving me the means to produce and release new material.

Today, independent musicians also face a very different reality when it comes to reaching an audience. Music promotion increasingly depends on specialised curators, playlists, interviews, independent music platforms, radio programmes and other forms of editorial exposure. Many of these opportunities involve financial costs, particularly for independent artists who do not have the backing of a record label or a large promotional budget.

Support my independent music project, EC=MC². Your contribution helps me continue creating, producing and releasing original electronic music, while developing new ideas and projects. Every contribution, whatever the amount, helps keep the music moving forward.

The funds raised through this campaign will be used to promote my music through specialised music platforms, independent media, radio, playlists and other channels that can help my work reach new audiences.

Part of the support will also go towards the production and release of new original material, allowing me to continue developing EC=MC² and creating new music.

Every contribution helps me keep the project moving forward, both by giving the existing music greater visibility and by making new work possible.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
