For almost 14 years, Plain Folk has been more than just a restaurant or a stage. It’s been the heart of the Pleasant Plain Community. It’s the place where many musicians first played on a stage, where so many people had Sunday breakfast, where local bands played their first sets, and where a community dedicated to playing and listening to live music was born.
Today, we are at a crossroads. Due to the impact of rising food costs, bad weather, music licensing fees, and repairs to our aging building, we are facing the very real possibility of closing our doors for good. We’ve fought hard behind the scenes, exhausting every resource and personal savings, but we can no longer do it alone. If we are forced to close, the community will lose an important gathering space that combines comfort food with fantastic live music.
We are seeking to raise $18,000. This isn't just a "patch"; it's a bridge to sustainability. Your donations will go directly toward:
$14,000 to pay back taxes.
$4,000 for music licensing fees.
We appreciate everyone's support through the years. It was a very challenging decision for us to ask more from our community that has given so much. However, we are out of options. We appreciate anything (no matter how small) that you can do to help us keep the music alive.
Thank you!
Dave, Angi, and the entire Plain Folk Family
