Keep the Magic Alive: Aid Fae Nectar's Restoration
Donation protected
Greetings everyone! First and foremost, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported our Fae Nectar - Staff Recovery GoFundMe and our first Volunteer Day this past Saturday! Your generosity has made a significant impact providing our staff with a stipend during this challenging recovery from Hurricane Helene. The spirit of community support has been truly inspiring. We are beyond grateful on behalf of our beloved staff and owners.
As we continue to process the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, it’s clear that there are still huge challenges ahead for Fae Nectar and everyone. The great news is that our building has only sustained minor water damage and will be reopening soon! The less good news is that our property has suffered extensive destruction. We’re moving literal mountains of silt and debris that washed up on our property. And the hardest news is that it may still be months until a usable road through Chimney Rock is reopened, which is the main travel road for folks journeying from Hendersonville, Asheville, Black Mountain, and most points west.
Former road through Chimney Rock, NC
Like every small business in Western North Carolina hit by Hurricane Helene, we have filed claims with our insurers, sought loan deferment with our lenders, and applied for all the disaster loans and grants we’ve found. Sadly these processes are very slow and the outcomes uncertain. We could really use your help to ensure we can weather this storm after the storm. This is our battle of Helm’s Deep and your donations will help us stay in the fight until Gandalf & Rohan show up on the horizon just at dawn’s break.
Over the past four years, we've wholeheartedly dedicated ourselves to creating this magical space, investing everything we have into its growth and vibrancy. If you've ever felt the warmth and creativity of our incredible staff or experienced the enchantment of events like Pirate Party Friday, our own Seelie Court or the recent Celtic Music Festival with Ceilidh dancing, you know that our venue is truly one-of-a-kind. Please help us keep the magic going!
How we would use these donations
Keep our torches lit and doors open! We already have a mountain of bills to catch up on, and this would be a HUGE help! We reopen this Friday, Nov 8th!
Restore the festival field! Thanks to some amazing help from Kilo Maui Construction and Shields Excavation, all the large debris has been removed from our property, and we’re almost finished putting earth back where it belongs. But we still need to do final grading and plant 2 acres of grass seed so that we once again have a wonderful field for concerts and festivals! We could have grass back in as little as 4-6 weeks!
Level up our Kitchen! Our current kitchenette is very limiting. We hope to purchase or lease a food truck for the winter so that we can upgrade our menu (shepherd’s pie, guinness stew, and other European dishes)! Long term we will still renovate our mini-building into a permanent full-service kitchen, but a food truck would help us make the transition.
We recognize that there are many urgent and worthy causes out there, and ask if you have any funds to spare and want to help our wonderful FaeNectar rebuild even stronger as an integral hub of community, please consider supporting us.
Thank you so much for helping us bring joy and community spirit back to our cherished establishment.
If you’re unable to donate financially, we would greatly appreciate volunteered services and skills in the following areas:
- Roofing Repair
- Licensed Electricians
- Licensed Plumbers
- Grading & Turf Management
- Gravel Donations
- Grass Seed & Straw Donations
Together, we can keep creating magical experiences at our medieval tavern in Lake Lure NC!
