Support the Toronto Hongkongers Dragon Boat Team on Their Journey!

We, the Toronto Hong Kong Parent Group, are launching a GoFundMe campaign to support our sub-group, the Toronto Hongkongers Dragon Boat Team, and their journey ahead in 2025!

About The Team:

The Toronto Hongkongers Dragon Boat Team was formed in December 2023, primarily by newcomers from Hong Kong. In 2024, two teams competed in the Toronto International Dragon Boat Festival, earning Gold and Silver Medals respectively. Additionally, the team competed in the GWN Challenge in September, securing a Gold Medal - a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Our team embodies the "Lion Rock Spirit," a symbol of resilience, unity, and determination. To carry forward this spirit in 2025, we are reaching out for your support to help cover equipment costs (paddles, seats, PFDs) and competition expenses.

2025 Competitions will be planned to compete in:

• Toronto International Dragon Boat Festival in Centre Island

• GWN Sport Regatta at Marilyn Bell Park

• Welland Dragon Boat Festival

• Pharmasave Woodstock Dragon Boat Festival at Pittock Conservation Area

• Stratford Rotary Dragon Boat Festival

What We Need:

To continue training and prepare for these events, the team needs financial support. Winter training includes hill runs, indoor exercises, and sessions at the Paddle Zone, while summer training involves pool and lake practice sessions. These costs can be challenging for newcomers who may still be finding their footing in Canada.
