Hurricane Melissa has left Brownsville Primary School, Maryland Primary School, and Mount Hannah Primary School in Hanover, Jamaica, without power. This disaster has disrupted the lives of hundreds of students and teachers, making it impossible for them to hold classes or sit for their crucial exams. The loss of electricity has also rendered the schools’ water and sanitation systems unusable, creating even more challenges for everyone involved.
Without immediate help, students are missing out on their education and risk falling behind at a critical time in their academic journey. The schools urgently need solar hybrid generators (inverters), Starlink devices for internet connectivity, and water pumps to restore essential services. These resources will allow classes to resume, ensure students can complete their exams, and provide safe, sanitary conditions for everyone at the schools.
Your support can make a real difference for these children and their teachers. By contributing, you’ll help restore hope and opportunity to these communities. Please join us in helping these schools recover and give their students the chance to continue learning and succeed this year.
