I am standing with Broadway In The HOOD to protect and uplift a dream that already changed lives. The Legacy Theatre of Excellence opened its doors on 10/10/2025 with a celebration that honored our history and our future. As Nevada’s first African American-owned and operated theatre and education complex and home of the African American Entertainment Museum, this building is more than brick and mortar. It is a beacon where young people discover their voices, their talents, and their confidence through free arts education and professional training.
Every day at The Legacy, students enter a full dance studio, podcast and recording studios, and hands-on theatre spaces where they learn acting, music, dance, lighting, sound, and stage management. They find mentors who believe in them, teachers who invest in their growth, and a community that sees their worth. For many families in underserved neighborhoods, these programs provide critical pathways to careers, scholarships, and brighter futures that would otherwise be out of reach.
Now we need your help to ensure The Legacy stays open, strong, and accessible to everyone who needs it. Paying off the theatre will secure this home for generations of young artists, preserve the first African American Entertainment Museum in Nevada, and keep free arts education available to youth who need it most. Your support helps sustain mentorship, workforce development, and life-changing creative opportunities.
Please donate to Broadway In The HOOD and join me in protecting The Legacy Theatre of Excellence. Your gift will keep doors open, stages bright, and possibilities endless for our next generation of artists and leaders.
