I believe in the power of a safe place where creativity can take root. I support Broadway In The HOOD because they tear down barriers and give people a voice through arts education and performance. The Legacy Theatre of Excellence is more than a building to me; it is a home where young people discover talents, build confidence, and find mentors who believe in their potential.
This theatre and education complex is Nevada’s first African American-owned and operated space of its kind and the home of the African American Entertainment Museum. It provides FREE training in acting, music, dance, and technical theatre, along with workforce development and professional mentorship. When a young person steps into that studio, recording booth, or stage, they are stepping into possibility and a path forward.
Broadway In the Hood goes beyond the walls and provides much needed assistance. In honor of my son, Malachi T. Gates, I am asking for everyone to step up and help them to continue their purpose.
Broadway In The HOOD is raising funds to secure the future of The Legacy Theatre of Excellence. Paying off this space means it can continue serving underserved youth and families for generations, keeping programs free and accessible and ensuring the museum and training facilities remain a community resource.
Please join me in supporting this vital work. Your donation will help protect a place that gives children and families a chance to be seen and to thrive. Any gift brings us closer to keeping these life-changing opportunities available for everyone.
