The Garage dance Studio was born in 2016 in New Britain CT with the love and passion for dance by Muna Swairjo. The Garage became the cultural hot spot filled with dance, live music and friends from around the world.
Keeping such connection during a pandemic has been a challenge for all of us, including those of us in the dance community. Limits to social gatherings and proximity restrictions have kept the Garage doors closed since March.
Where melodies and laughter once existed, only emptiness and echoes remained. Gone were close embraces and seamless movement with potential partners. No cabeceos. No tandas. No dancing until the early morning hours. COVID put the dance world on pause.
But now the time has come to turn up the lights and music at the studio once again and The Garage Dance studio is committed to revitalizing our vibrant community.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
Like many small businesses, the dance industry was financially impacted, especially small independent dance studios. Due to the state's shelter-in-place policy, limits to social gatherings and proximity restrictions have prevented the Garage door from hosting lessons or events. The studio also did not qualify for small business subsidies and the studio took a financial hit.
WE NEED YOUR HELP of small donations you will make a big impact..
