Keep the Elk Creek Dream Alive!

In 2007 our community came together to dream and create the Elk Creek Cafe + Aleworks, a community gathering place for enjoying outstanding craft beer,  great local food, fantastic live music, and building community.  From the outset our core business value has been to support and give back to our community.  We have partnered annually with a wide range of worthy organizations, especially Millheim Fire Company, The Hope Fund of PV, Penns Valley Area School District, and Penns Valley Conservation Association.

Over the years, we've been an important outlet for local farmers + producers, and a home for amazing bands from our valley and the world over. A place where people from all walks feel welcome, part of the community. We are, Rooted in Millheim!

Like small businesses all over the US, Elk Creek was dramatically endangered by the economic disruptions caused by Coronavirus when, on March 16, with no warning, our local foods and craft brewery business was ordered to close our dining room and bar. We had to cut back our hard-working staff from 31 to 4 people immediately. And despite implementing the Take Out only option, our sales have plummeted to less than 10% of normal.

We have applied for an SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan and are hopeful that we will be able to secure this and other federal Main Street funding being discussed by Congress. However, we are told that it could be 3 weeks or more before those funds become available. And we don't have 3 weeks.

In order to keep the lights on, pay our rent, keep our skeleton staff, and do right by our vendors, we need $27,000 in operations bridge capital to help us through the next month until the loan(s) are in the bank.  And we need this money now — ideally, in the next 7-10 days.

We want to continue to be a positive, inspiring resource in our amazing community and to do that we need your help. Please help us raise the $27,000 we need to cover expenses until our disaster loan comes in.   Any donation amount will help and is greatly appreciated.
