The Dunbar Theatre has been a staple of the Dunbar Neighbourhood since it was built in 1935. The current scene has threatened its permanent closure.
Not only is the theatre a place for the community to come together and share in the joy of movies, but it also employs many students in the area and has over the last 20+ years. Whether it be a school, sports, a church or community function, the Dunbar Theatre has always been a supporter and partner in the community.
The funds will be used to keep the theatre operational through the pandemic and beyond. It is currently still operational, selling curb-side popcorn, snacks, drinks, and beer. Please see their Facebook page for details!
