At Quabbin Harvest Food Co-op in Orange, MA we love cookies! And our customers love our cookies. In 2024 we’ve sold almost 6,000 cookies including lots of our signature chai molasses cookies, everyone’s favorite chocolate chip, and special treats like macaroons

We’ve been making cookies since 2021, when then-team-member Frank Hains (that’s him in the lower left photo) added this to the offerings from our kitchen. Today the whole staff is involved in making the mix, the dough, and the cookies themselves. It smells soooo good in the store when there are fresh cookies!

But we have a problem. Our kitchen is always a work in progress, and we’ve added equipment whenever we’ve been able to find the money for something we need, which isn’t all the time. We’ve been using a borrowed KitchenAid mixer that wasn’t really big enough or heavy-duty enough to begin with. And now its owner needs it back. We’re grateful for the long-term loan but we really need to replace it quickly so the cookie-making can go on. It’s not only one of the yummiest things about our small store, it’s an important part of our sales.

We’re aiming to make our staff happy by buying a proper commercial mixer that’s big enough to make multiple batches of dough at one time. Can you help us get to $1,000 to do that by January 11? We’ll be happy to thank you, in cookies of course!
