Keep Tess and Chris from Becoming Homeless!

Tess Fowler and Chris Gutierrez are warriors. Heroes. They are generous to a fault. They are authentic and true and bold in their art and storytelling. They dealt with Tess' unthinkable cancer diagnosis in 2020, which had Tess walk through the valley of Chemo, Surgery, and a total reinvention of who she was. Then they dealt with Chris' blood pressure crisis, which ought to have killed him (the doctors still don't know why it didn't) and brought themselves through the shadows of childhood trauma to free themselves to be honest and honorable folk even through the difficulties of these medical crises and COVID. I have never seen two more resilient people.

But they are now victims of the Eviction Tsunami hitting Los Angeles. They did not qualify for COVID help, though they chased down every single possible financial assistance they could find.

Their landlord had said that he would work with them regarding back rent -- but then turned around and said "nope, decided not to, so you have a week to get out."

At this point, there is no hope with that landlord. So they are madly trying to find someplace to live in a very tight apartment market in LA and can't do the first/last/security/plus without our help. They will immediately owe $25k in back rent after that.

Whatever you can do -- and I know we are all tight right now helping each other -- could keep them from ending up on the streets and sleeping in their cars.
