Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone for their generosity and kindness, as well as an update! The A-Team is beyond grateful for the kindness and generosity that was shown to them ❤️

Nana has always been extremely transparent, so I would like to share a list so that everyone can see how the funds were applied.

They still have a long road ahead of them to recover from their financial stress and with the upcoming trip to Florida for Ana’s yearly medical care, I have decided to leave the GoFundMe up through the month of October.

The yearly trip to Florida for Ana’s medical care is a necessity because she requires serial casting, physical therapy and new braces. They drive and do not fly as the need to have access to handicap accessible transportation to accommodate Ana’s service dog Gemelli and her power chair, so they take their own van. The trip is 6 weeks long requiring time off from work for Aaron and the added expenses of lodging, gas, tolls, insurance co-pays, food etc. Ana’s medical care is extremely specialized and the trip to Florida is required as this is where her Dr/surgeon is.

For that purpose, any additional contributions to this GoFundMe throught he month of October will go directly to their medical travel/lodging expenses and helping cover bills at home while they are away for November and December.

08/2025 UPDATE…

Quite a number of people have requested that I leave the GoFundMe up indefinitely so the A-Team can continue to receive whatever blessings come their way!

Nana put up a post earlier and updated everyone on what has been done so far. They are so incredibly grateful and relieved, and you can see it on their faces during the live streams.

Which reminds me — did you know they still do live streams three times a week? A lot of people don’t realize that they have a private community where they continue to go live each week. For anyone who is interested in continuing to help on a monthly basis, the subscription is a wonderful way to do it. It goes 100% into their pocket as part of their income each month, helping them make ends meet while also giving you a way to keep up with their daily life and progress. If you’re interested, just leave a comment on any Facebook post asking for me (Sharon), and I’ll help get you set up.

Here’s part of the update Nana shared this evening outlining where some of your donations have gone so far:

✅ All medical debt paid off!

✅ The van fixed and running strong again

✅ August bills taken care of

✅ $2k set aside for November travel for Ana’s medical treatment (plus the wish list gift cards!)

✅ $2k set aside for emergencies

✅ Ana’s school program covered for the year

✅ Four months of her language lessons prepaid

✅ Fur babies fed and loved

✅ Squishmallows birthday dreams covered

✅ Almost $10k in support (including our donation) sent to my friend Kim to help her recover from her house fire

Much of what has been raised (after taxes and fees) is going toward paying down debt to help lower their monthly expenses so they no longer come up short each month. The $2,300 medical insurance premium takes up half of what they earn each month, and the debt has been drowning them for a long time. For the first time, they feel like they actually have a chance at being debt-free again. It will still take a couple of years, but because of all of you, it’s more of a reality now than it was just two weeks ago.

I want everyone to know, when I decided to start this GoFundMe for the A-team, I set an initial amount, but I also clicked the option to automatically update the goal and allow the fundraiser to continue until I chose to close it. The universe has sent this far and wide, and people are continuing to donate because they want to. I’m going to allow it to continue at the request of others who still wish to give.

WHY?

Along with our other friends who helped me establish this GoFundMe, I’ve decided to let it continue. This is not about greed. The A-Team would rather end it now, but as their friends, we continue to see people wanting to donate. We feel that any additional funds will help them pay down credit card debt that resulted from a change in income and their relocation from Florida back to Michigan. Alleviating this debt will allow them to focus on necessary repairs to their home and Ana’s upcoming medical needs and homeschooling, as Nana and Aaron have always put Ana’s needs first.

Please understand that for these reasons, we have decided to leave the fundraiser open just a bit longer. Every dollar donated will be used wisely and will help them in ways that will benefit them long-term.

WE ARE BEYOND GRATEFUL for the number of people who have donated and made it possible for the A-Team to have their van repaired. This has enabled Aaron to get to work and has allowed them to breathe a sigh of relief for the first time in three years. THANK YOU!

TL:DR - THE SHORT STORY — IT TAKES A VILLAGE

The A-team’s only transportation and wheelchair-accessible van broke down and they are facing a $2,000 brake repair bill that came the night before Aaron’s new job started. Without the van he can’t get to work, they can’t get to medical appointments, or Ana’s upcoming trip for her annual treatments. This is not the only issue, they have endured two years of nonstop emergencies—major home repairs, medical expenses, and loss of income—that have drained all their savings and run up debt that is drowning them.

Every dollar donated will go directly to:

1. Immediate van repairs so Aaron can work and Ana can get to medical appointments.

2. Essential bills and household repairs to give them breathing room to recover financially.

3. Keeping Ana’s schooling and medical care on track while preparing for her November treatment trip.

THE DETAILED BREAKDOWN (no pun intended)

HELP THE A-TEAM GET BACK ON THEIR FEET

We are a group of Nana and Aaron’s friends deeply concerned about the financial hardships the A-Team has faced since early 2023.

It has been one challenge after another—relentless roadblocks from every direction. When they relocated back to their home state of Michigan, it was meant to be a fresh start. They planned to rebuild, be closer to family, and create more stability. Instead, the universe seemed to have other plans.

Every time they’ve managed to make progress paying down debt, another crisis has hit.

THE LATEST EMERGENCY: THE VAN

Yesterday, their only vehicle—a wheelchair-accessible van customized for their daughter, Ana—suffered a major brake failure. The brake lines and brakes are rusted out, leaving it completely unsafe to drive. This van is essential. It’s the only way they can transport Ana, her power chair, and her service dog, Gemelli. Without it, they are stranded.

WHY THIS HITS SO HARD

This happened the night before Aaron was supposed to start a new temporary, part-time job—his first in a while—forcing them to scramble for a ride. Lyft and Uber aren’t realistic options; they cost more than he earns in a day.

At the same time, any “extra” money they normally scrape together goes toward homeschooling Ana. She’s homeschooled by Nana because it’s what’s best for her unique needs. Ana is an extraordinary 9-year-old—she’s a member of MENSA and Davidson Young Scholars, starting 6th-grade curriculum, and already fluent in Spanish with intermediate Mandarin. She has varying degrees of knowledge in 7 languages. Keeping up with her insatiable love of learning takes dedication and resources.

They also carry a $2,300/month health insurance premium because Ana’s doctors at the Paley Institute don’t accept Medicaid. In just a few months, they must travel again for her next set of custom orthopedic braces—a process that takes 4–6 weeks and involves intensive treatment.

THE BAD-LUCK CHAIN

Since returning to Michigan, they’ve faced an exhausting series of costly, unavoidable setbacks:

Hazardous basement insulation soaked in mouse urine/feces—this was supposed to be Nana’s home office and Ana’s schoolroom. It had to be remediated immediately.

Dryer stopped working in the middle of winter—still not repaired.

Refrigerator failing—can’t keep temperature, freezer ices over, likely to quit at any time.

Whole-house electrical problems—outlets had to be rewired.

Broken shower—unsafe for Ana; they truly need a handicap-accessible shower with a seat.

Central air unit died during this summer’s heat waves—no replacement parts exist for the decades-old system. The heat is especially hard on Ana and Gemelli, her long-haired black lab mix.

And now—the van.

WHY WE'RE ASKING FOR HELP

They have no credit left, no emergency funds, and income is at its lowest due to major changes in how social media platforms pay creators. This month alone they have over $1,200 in bills due—not counting the nearly $2,000 van repair.

Nana has always been the first to step up for others. She and Aaron have personally paid medical bills for other AMC families, catered meals to families staying at Quantum House during treatment, and run a nonprofit to raise awareness and provide support for people with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. They’ve built a strong, kind, and inspiring online community—now, they’re the ones in need.
