Steve and Jo-Ann are Christian missionaries who have been in the UK for almost 10 years. Steve is from Cameroon and Jo-Ann from South Africa. They are currently working at YWAM Mosaic Hope, Luton, with a team who have a long-term vision to start a Counselling and Restoration centre.

This fundraiser is to support Steve, Jo-Ann, and their daughter, with their visa applications for indefinite leave to remain in the UK. Steve and Jo-Ann have primarily worked without salaries for the Christian organisation YWAM for over 15 years, and Jo-Ann has had health issues of late. I (Lisa, a friend) ask you to consider if you would like to join in partnering with them to pay the expensive visa application costs. They need to pay £2888 x3 to cover the family.

Here's a bit more about Steve and Jo-Ann if you don't know them already . . .

Steve has worked for YWAM for 17 years, and Jo-Ann for 15 years, primarily in South Africa and Europe. They have both completed multiple in-depth Christian counselling courses with YWAM, and have facilitated these courses for others. (I met them when facilitating one of these courses.) Steve and Jo-Ann moved to work with YWAM London in 2015 where they helped to run drop-ins 3 times a week for individuals facing isolation, housing issues, and food insecurity. Steve used this time to gain his Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling (Level 5). Here they also had their daughter. :) The family then moved to YWAM Mosaic Hope, Luton in August 2021.

Steve and Jo-Ann are passionate about the transformation that counselling brings about in individuals, families, and wider communities. Steve has put together a training course combining YWAM counselling course material and that from his UK Diploma. With starting a Counselling and Restoration centre, the desire is to provide individual counselling, post-traumatic growth therapy groups, and training at low cost. Further into the future Jo-Ann also has a vision to create a safe house for women needing an extended period of stability, counselling and restoration.
