Keep Sterling’s Ears On: Speech & Hearing Support Fund

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Sterling Archer.

I was born deaf, but thanks to my incredible mom, I was given the gift of hearing through cochlear implants.

Although the surgery happened years ago, the journey hasn't stopped there. I still need weekly speech therapy and regular audiology appointments to help me navigate the hearing world. While I do know American Sign Language, being able to hear lets me enjoy music and connect with people who don't know ASL — it truly gives me the best of both worlds.

Unfortunately, maintaining this progress is expensive. My speech therapy sessions and the upkeep for my cochlear devices come at a high cost.

Until recently, I was fully covered under medicaid. My mom has been trying her best to get my services back, but it's been hard. She finally found coverage, but we can't afford it.

We're asking for $2,000 to cover my monthly insurance payments for the rest of the year, so I can continue to see my speech therapist and audiologist.

Right now, it's just my mom doing it all on her own. She works incredibly hard and gives everything she has, but it's a lot for one person. You always hear that "it takes a village" — and this is one of those moments. That's why she created this GoFundMe: in the hopes that friends, family, and kind-hearted people like you might help us bridge the gap.

Any support — whether it's a donation or simply sharing our story — truly means the world to us.
