This past Saturday, many of us were or stand to be devastated and impacted by a tragic enactment of violence against Arlando M. Palmore—a family member, friend, co-worker, and pleasant, smiley acquaintance to many. As many know, Arlando is a bright, loving, and motivated individual. He is the first person to call when you’re looking for something fun to do, needing someone to talk to, or begging someone for help with a daunting task. Speaking for many, Arlando is a rare glimpse of what we ought to strive for and certainly, a blessing to us all. When you’re with Arlando, there is no place for sadness or disappointment—his energy and kindness just do not allow it. Moreover, Arlando has a passion for service, demonstrated both in his current role as a store manager with Sunglass Hut—a company Arlando has been a part of for over 6 years—and in his pursuit of further education in healthcare. Hence, we seek your support and graciousness to assist Arlando throughout the process of his recovery, so he can continue thriving as an amazing family member, friend, co-worker, and an ever-so-pleasant acquaintance to have.

Tragically, Arlando sustained four gunshot wounds to his abdomen region early Saturday morning, significantly affecting numerous vital organs and body parts. Due to the ongoing investigation and search for suspects, specific circumstances are omitted. However, the incident arose and escalated out of a dispute that occurred before Arlando was requested and subsequently arrived to take an individual home. Fortunately, with great strength, love, medical professionals and care staff, prayers, and support from all around, Arlando has reached a stable condition, and continues to improve daily!

Since the occurrence, Arlando has been under the care of terrific medical experts and support staff. Within moments of the accident, Milwaukee Police and emergency medical responders acted quickly to get him where he needed to be. Arlando underwent emergency surgery, which lasted numerous hours. After hours of uncertainty, Arlando recovered enough to undergo a second and hopefully final surgery on Sunday morning, where doctors worked to close his wounds.

Arlando continues to make significant strides towards recovery but is expected to need a tremendous amount of further care. As of Tuesday, July 19, 2022, Arlando stood up and took his first small walk in three days. However, as a well-known lover of various tasty foods, he still awaits his first sip of water or taste of food. We are all hopeful and confident that Arlando will continue to be strong throughout his recovery and make significant strides toward total health. We are gracious for any support you can provide! ❤️
