No Pandemic Can Keep Us Down!

We are the Stone Mountain Arts Center and like many music venues and artists, we are crawling back slowly after the Pandemic. We know it must seem like it's over, and all is back to normal. But SMAC as the locals call it, is still in the crawling position a bit. Yes, we made it through the Pandemic, and we are so grateful for that. But all the recurring canceled shows, recurring refunds and recurring credits coming home to roost, are scars that we are still feeling even when the room is full. It has made it difficult to catch up and we always seem to climbing up a hill.

We have especially felt it this year, ironically when we are finally starting to see full shows. And yes, we may be tired of the struggle but not of the task of bringing music and thoughtfulness to our community. And yes we still provide a weekly meal to those in need and will continue to do so.

Our anniversary show was not the boost we usually get like many shows this year, it was not a sell out. It is our safety net for the winter ahead..last year's winter was wild!! And we want to keep improving….we have lots of work to do on the place…wow we need a paint job! And many other necessary and fun projects. Jeff even got an old tour bus that is he fixing up for an additional mobile dressing room which we really need sometimes. He never stops! If you see him, ask him to show you the progress.

We have our Patreon movement that slowly growing momentum as we add content, and all of you buying tickets and memberships, all helps us thrive. But this fund raiser is to help us get us over that hump of a hill, we have been climbing ...so instead of crawling we can run..run like we always have. And run a little shinier, a little better and a little less stressed out!! We want to start the fall on top of the hill!! We thank you so much for allowing us to be in your lives all year long and all in!
