Scout's Diabetes Fund
Donation protected
Scout is a magical, sweet, gentle feline creature from another dimension. He is 14 years old and he has diabetes. I adopted Scout a few years ago, and he was diagnosed with diabetes shortly afterwards. Myself and my close friends have all worked together to make sure he always gets his insulin shots, even when I have to go out of town for work. My partner is a student and I am hopefully going back to school soon, and like many others, we are both struggling with expenses, employment, rent, and debt.
Scout needs insulin shots twice a day, and he also has to eat special cat food for his urinary tract problems. He pees a lot so we go through litter pretty quickly, too. We are planning on transitioning to wood pellets, but I just moved in with my partner and his much younger kitty, who is still adjusting to Scout's presence and vice versa. We are trying to establish a comfy environment for the two cat brothers before we mess with their litter needs. With needles, insulin, alcohol swabs, litter, cleaning supplies, food, etc, plus vet visits, Scout costs a couple hundred bucks a month. It doesn't seem like much, but it's another bill I need to worry about just to keep my sweet little cat healthy.
There are also people in my life who have generously paid for Scout's vet visits, and I would like to be able to pay them back a little bit, too. Every time we need to visit the vet, we face another $300 bill (or more). This fundraiser is meant to create a fund for keeping Scout healthy. He's my entire world, he wouldn't hurt a fly, he loves belly rubs, and he sleeps in my arms like a teddy bear every night. I love him so much and I just want to give him a comfortable life and keep him happy and healthy for as long as possible!
