Keep Sandro home and help prevent his deportation

**UPDATE June 9** on Friday June 6th, Sandro went to court for the government to show evidence as to why he should be deported and the conclusion came down to that due to how long he has legally been here, how long ago the infraction happened and what he's doing with his life now, that the chances of him staying are higher than they've been since the original detainment, which is great news! The judge advised that they are pushing to get the trial date in 30-60 days and if we were to file for an appeal, that court date would be after the trial date, so it would be a waste of money/time. so the good news is that he will go to trial hopefully within the next 30-60 days and it sounds like it will go smoothly. the bad news is the price the lawyer is charging and the more time spent inside accumulates fees in his life. anything helps at this point, please help us keep Sandro home!! ❤

ORIGINAL POST (May 28) ICE has detained Sandro for over a month and denied his bail, we have less than a month to raise money for lawyers to keep him in the only country he knows and help with all fees associated with being detained this long.

Sandro has been a legal citizen of this country with a green card, in Metro Detroit Michigan, since he was 6 years old when him and his mother legally moved here from Bosnia with Refugee Status, he will be turning 36 on June 10th, while he's detained and fighting to stay in the only country he knows and loves. Sandro went in for a routine check-in with immigration on April 30th (he does this bi-annually) and due to a marijuana charge from 2007, when he was still a 17 year old child, ICE detained him. They held him at the airport for 2 days and due to the jails being over capacity here in Michigan, they took him 4.5 hours away to a county jail in Ohio. He's been detained for over a month already. We originally had high hopes, he had his bond hearing May 22nd (after being detained for over 3 weeks) but they denied him bail. We have until June 21st for a lawyer to appeal their bond denial, but are unable to cover the costs to cover the fees requested up front. If we are unable to appeal their bond, they will deport Sandro to a country he doesn't know, with no family or support system.

Sandro has never been someone who accepts or even asks for help from others, he is ALWAYS the one who is there for everyone else. This is our long-shot hope that we can keep him here, in the only country he knows, with the family he has made. I know times are hard, but anything would be appreciated and would help so much - even if it's just sharing.

If you have read this far, thank you for taking the time to hear just a small part of his story, he truly is one of a kind and I feel so lucky to know him.
