Keep Ruth at home til a vaccine is available
My mother has lived for ninety-nine years. In August she will be one hundred. She will also be out of the money which has been keeping her at home with 24/7 care.
She was born during the second wave of the Spanish Flu pandemic, lived through the Great Depression, raised four children, andwidowed at fifty. She spent twenty- five years supporting herself and enjoying her grandchildren. At seventy-five, she found the second love of her life and married him, a wonderful man we all loved. He became grandpa to the eight grandchildren and thirteen great- grand children until he died last year, leaving her bereft of her beloved. photo taken at age ninety-nine
My siblings and I have been fully involved in our mother’s care, but with advancing dementia, while otherwise healthy, she needs more help than we can provide. The cost of 24/7 care is $7,000 per month. We had planned for her to go to a state run nursing home at the end of the money ......... then COVID19 arrived.
THIRTY NINE THOUSAND residents of nursing homes died in TWO months, from the virus. The total number of nursing home deaths today is 40,600. I beseech you, if you can, please donate .... any amount. It will help us keep her at home until a vaccine is available and keep her from the high probability of a miserable death, alone, in a nursing home .... I will be forever grateful.
