Help My Sister Stay Warm and Mobile: A Call for Compassion

Hello I am Val Stack,

My sister, Roslyn Jennings Edwards(Roz), is a strong, kind-hearted woman who has faced more than her fair share of challenges. At 66 years old, she is living with debilitating injuries to her arm, shoulder, and knee, which have left her disabled and unable to work. Despite these hardships, she continues to face life with courage and determination.

Today, however, she is in a dire situation that she simply cannot handle alone. She is under the crushing weight of urgent, unexpected repairs that have left her with no way to move forward without help.

A Home Without Heat

Her furnace, essential during these frigid winter months, has failed beyond repair. Though she has an appliance repair plan, the furnace is so old that the part needed to fix it is no longer manufactured. She now faces the immediate and critical need to replace it entirely—a cost of nearly $7,000.00, she simply cannot afford on her limited income. The use of space heaters is a costly alternative, with her electric bills sky rocketing.

A Car in Crisis

As if the furnace wasn’t enough, her reliable 2017 car, which has never had issues before, has suddenly started hemorrhaging oil. A trusted mechanic diagnosed the problem as a ruptured rear main seal, likely caused by the extreme cold. The repair estimate starts at $3,500, an amount completely out of reach for her.

Without a working furnace, she faces the bitter cold in her home. Without her car, she loses her independence and her only means to get to medical appointments or run essential errands.
