Help Roseanne and Star Find a Safe New Home
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
My name is Roseanne Horton, and I am a 74-year-old native Floridian. For my entire life, I have called Florida home, but recent events have led me to make a difficult decision: it’s time for me to relocate for the first time in my life. After enduring the devastating impacts of multiple hurricanes, including Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, I find myself seeking a safer and more stable environment for myself and my beloved dog, Star.
Living alone in Florida has become increasingly challenging. The hurricanes have not only caused physical damage to my home but have also taken a toll on my mental and emotional well-being. At 74, I am facing health challenges that prevent me from working, and my only source of income is a monthly Social Security check of $800. With multiple bills to pay, it has become increasingly difficult to make ends meet.
My dream is to find a new home where I can live peacefully and safely, away from the threat of hurricanes and the stress they bring. I envision a place where I can enjoy my golden years with Star by my side, surrounded by a supportive community. However, the financial burden of relocating is overwhelming, and I am reaching out for help.
I am seeking to raise $25,000 to cover moving expenses, including transportation, deposits, and initial living costs in my new home. This amount will help me secure a safe place where I can start anew and focus on my health and happiness.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to achieving this dream. Your support will not only help me find a new home but will also provide me with the peace of mind I desperately need at this stage in my life.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to me and Star. Together, we can turn this dream into a reality.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Roseanne Horton
