Hi, I’m Chris Daubenspeck, and I’m starting this fundraiser to help my girlfriend, Robyn Abel, during a tough period in her life. Below is her story. Any donations would mean the world to her and would ease the burden she’s facing right now. If you can’t donate, that’s ok; just a simple act of sharing this would go a long way.
Help Robyn Stay Afloat While She Heals and Finds New Work
Hi, my name is Robyn, and I’m reaching out during a difficult time in my recovery and life transition.
In April, I had emergency back surgery after my legs suddenly went numb. The surgery was necessary and unavoidable, but it left me with limited mobility and a long recovery process. For the past six months, I’ve been unable to work while healing. Thankfully, I was able to rely on a long-term disability benefit that helped me stay on top of my rent, utilities, and basic living expenses.
However, when it came time to return to work, my employer was unable to accommodate the mobility limitations I now face. This has left me in a really tough spot—my disability benefit has ended, and I currently have no income while a labor representative works to help me find a new, more suitable position. Unfortunately, that process can take time, and in the meantime, the bills don’t stop coming.
I’m doing everything I can to stay hopeful and move forward, but right now, I need some help to keep a roof over my head, cover essential bills, and stay stable while I wait for my next opportunity.
If you’re able to donate—no matter how small—it will make a huge difference in helping me get through this period safely and with hope. And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing my story. Every bit of kindness helps more than you know.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your compassion, your time, and your support as I work to get back on my feet—literally and figuratively.
With love and gratitude,
Robyn
