Keep Rivers Healthy and Thriving

There is no surprise that Rivers is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. If soulmates come in all shapes and sizes, I have been lucky enough to have found mine 10 years ago on Craigslist in a dingy neighborhood, scared out of her mind and so was I. She was this 7-week-old tiny nugget of fear and anxiety. If I had only known how beautiful of a life we would have, and still have together, I wouldn’t have guessed it.

I was on the fence about starting a fundraiser, as so many people are in need in this world and I would hate to take away from that. However, Rivers is my world and has been a part of so many other people's world, that it only seemed fair to her if I tried.

Rivers had a vet appointment where they insisted on dental work, a chipped tooth (who knows how we got that one), and a panel of blood work to (hopefully) rule out some concerns of Cushing's or liver issues. We have never missed a vet appointment or slacked on medical care, but this appointment made me nervous to hear.

While Rivers is still her normal sassy, wild self, I am going through a large rebuilding life moment and simply cannot afford the expenses of these two procedures. Dental work alone is over 1,100. That’s without any extractions or extra work they may run into while in the procedure. Asking for help doesn’t come easy, but this is my way of asking to help keep Rivers in the best shape she can be in for hopefully another 10 years. If you would even share her story, that would mean a lot.
