Keep Rebecca on the Road to Recovery

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I need help.

In November of 2023, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.

Since my diagnosis, my life has gone downhill. I lost my job and my marriage in March of 2025. My husband and I have separated, and he has primary custody of our son. My family had temporarily offered me some help, but now my brother is kicking me out of my place. Due to fighting within my family, my parents have disowned my brother and me. My brother gave me until August 23rd to be out of my place, with a hard deadline by the end of the month.

On August 2nd, I bought a used car at an auto auction in the hopes that I could at least temporarily live in it while I wait to see if I can qualify for SSDI or find some kind of work. I've already started the process, but qualifying for SSDI can take over six months in the state of California.

However, the car has several issues, and I'm being quoted well into the thousands just to do the work so I can get the car registered and on the road.

So, it's come to the point where I'm setting up this GoFundMe in the hopes of raising enough money to help fix my car so I can register it.

I've been quoted over $2,000 so far. I can't apply for financing through the mechanic because I do not have a source of income.

My goal is to get the car running and registered, and at least enough money that I can pay what few bills I have and be able to keep gas in my car while I travel to see my son and my doctor's appointments, since I am still in treatment for my cancer.
