We never imagined we would be here
Over the last few weeks, circumstances in our city and region have changed dramatically. We have had to shut down service on and off. Our coffee shop operates few days.

Through all of this we helped employees with payroll, loans, personal rents, stay afloat during financial challenges while they also navigate fear, stress, and uncertainty. We exhausted our personal savings, raised money from family, but are now at cross roads where we do not have funds to pay

100% of funds raised will go directly toward keeping our teams employed and us not faulting on our rent & vendor obligations. We will assign 10% of all funds raised towards legal & emergency fund for support for any impacted employees for any needs they have.

Why Raag Matters to the Twin Cities
In a city filled with chains, big food brands, and famous chef corporate concepts, Raag chose to be independent, personal, and community centered. For more than four years, we have been part of the cultural fabric of the Twin Cities. What began as the Only One of this FORMAT Indian fine-dining restaurant grew into something bigger, a place for food, culture, music, and community.

It has become a place where first dates turned into engagements, where birthdays and anniversaries were celebrated, where neighbors met neighbors, where artists, musicians, seniors, families, people of all ethnicities gathered under one roof. It has been a bridge between cultures, introducing modern Indian cuisine to new audiences. We hosted chef tastings, cultural events, film-festival gatherings, community fundraisers, and everyday dinners that made people feel connected. The Corner Cafe extended that mission into the daytime — a neighborhood coffee space built for conversation, warmth, and belonging. Our family opened the FIRST $10 and under food diner in a closed burger king location in St Cloud this January to provide affordable dining to all.

Family and community first over corporate greed.
Sohil our owner truly is at the heart of community. He is there before everyone and always there planning something for you all even after everyone leaves, supporting his team while raising his daughter and supporting his family as a single parent through tough times. He left a high-paying corporate executive career to build a community platform, and Raag is that platform.

Independent, culturally rooted restaurants like Raag are part of what makes a city feel alive. If Raag disappears, it’s not just a business that closes — it’s a piece of the Twin Cities’ cultural fabric that fades.
