Keep Phil Alive - help get lifesaving treatment

UPDATE:
It looks like CareFirst has reversed their decision (on 12/31), and Phil will be getting the medication he needs! This is a wonderful change of course and we are all shouting with joy!
We imagine Phil will continue to have medical-related expenses and the funds raised will go toward his medical and living expenses as he continues his 9+ year battle with this cancer. If you'd like to discuss this, please contact me through the fundraiser.
- Amy Morrison, friend of Phil
Phil Ateto has been battling multiple myeloma cancer for several years and has exhausted most treatment options. There is one new drug that has shown success with his type of cancer; his oncologist has implored the insurance company, CareFirst, to approve this new treatment. They are denying coverage. (SEE UPDATE ABOVE!)
CareFirst is condemning Phil to death by failing to provide the last drug that allows him to live. While we are working on pressuring them to reverse their decision, we are raising money as a stop gap measure so Phil can get this treatment as soon as possible. Without this drug, he has at most 4-6 months to live.
All funds will go to Phil, for his treatment and personal needs.
