Keep Petie in Ferndale

Hello my name is Brittani, and I am making this go fund me page for my grandma, Patricia Galbraith. Patricia, Petie, or Mema as I and the other grandchild and great grandkids call her, is in a time of need.

Patricia grew up in Ferndale and for most of her life lived in her Mother, Evelyn’s rental, right next door. She sold her house in Eugene, Oregon to move back and take care of her Mother. In March Evelyn passed away.

She has been paying her mom rent monthly for 25+ years. In recent years, Mema retired and started full time taking care of Evelyn. From cooking, to cleaning up her house, paying bills, doing her shopping,to getting to appointments and the doctors. When her mom got really sick, she moved from her house next-door to her mothers house and lived in the living room on a bed so that she could be there day and night to take care of her.

For the past 3 years+, Evelyn had told Patricia that she wanted her to have the house that her family had built. Way prior to Eveyln getting sick. After the passing of Evelyn, the three children were listed as trustees of the trust which included both houses. The three siblings, her sister, her brother and herself sat down at the kitchen table in their mothers house and decided that they were not going to sell the properties. However after her siblings spoke to their spouses they changed their minds to sell both houses for the money. They are now kicking out my Mema. She doesn’t have the income to be able to buy the house.

We are asking for help to keep at least the one house in the family. My great grandma Evelyn and her husband built that house, we still have the original blueprints, it was exactly Evelyn's dream house and she always wanted it to stay in the family. The money raised will help Patricia be able to have a down payment to buy and save the house.
