Please help us raise funds to support our coworker, Rob Shields to save his dog, Pearl. He has been an integral part of the Powell Community as he has worked at Beehive Bread Company for 15 years. He has impacted countless lives over these years.

Here is their story:

At the beginning of this year, Rob started volunteering at the dog shelter after work. He fell in love with a 6 year old German Shepherd and couldn’t stop talking about her. After a few weeks of her sitting in the shelter, he decided to take the next step and adopt her. Everything seemed to be great! All he could do was talk about how sweet of a dog she is— well behaved and calm— the perfect companion for him at this stage in his life. During a routine vet appointment, they found an infection and put her on antibiotics, but it hasn’t cleared up. They have said the only thing that will help is surgery. Due to the severity of the situation, the shelter has put an ultimatum that he will have to surrender Pearl back to them on July 26th if he cannot pay for the surgery.

Rob is completely in love with Pearl and it breaks everyone’s hearts to see this happen to them. When Rob isn’t at work, he is with Pearl. Rob is truly the best caretaker for Pearl that we could think of. She is absolutely in the perfect home. Not only does Rob take her on camping trips, he also makes her homemade food for every meal. They both need each other significantly. Please help us support him so he can keep Pearl!
